“Nick Moeright is a criminal defense lawyer who has had an accident that has made him a wheelchair user. The night before his comeback case, he discovers that his sister, Ericka, for whom he has recently become responsible and who has high-functioning autism, has been bio-hacked. Willingly! Nick plans to confront the people who did it—just as soon as he can find them.

Alex, Nick’s fiancé, argues that it’s Ericka who’s responsible, both for the bio-hack and for herself. It’s another strike for Nick when, while recovering from his accident, Alex began to radicalize and has now become, inarguably, an eco-terrorist. The increasing pitch of Alex’s activism threatens a rift between the two men even as he works to strengthen the relationship between Nick and Ericka and also help guide Nick through his final stage of healing – acceptance.

But when Nick finally confronts the bio-hackers, it’s Alex who needs to accept the unexpected and unsettling outcome.”

And Where Will You Put the Things You Save

Audiences Love “And Where Will You Put the Things You Save?”

Inclusive Theater of WNY opened its inaugural play on Thursday, October 11 and held a well attended gala before the play on Saturday, October 13th.

The play, “And Where Will You Put the Things You Save?” was written by Baroness von Smith, a WNY playwright and directed by Virginia Brannon. The talented cast includes veteran WNY actors Steve Brachmann, Jessica Levesque and John Profeta (just off his powerhouse performance in Farenheit 451 at Subversive Theatre).

Audiences have been enthusiastic and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback about the play, the chemistry between the actors, and the subject matter. Read the review by Cherie Messore of Buffalo Theater Guide hereThe play runs through October 28th at Alleyway Theatre. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm; Sundays at 2pm.  You can purchase tickets here.

Workshops

We’re All Superheroes!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out for our We’re All Superheroes! – Participatory Theater Workshop!

We brainstormed, we wrote, we laughed, we played, we ate ice cream, we plotted, we planned, we wrote some more, we edited, we created sets, we practiced and we performed a 10 minute short play ALL IN ONE AFTERNOON!

With a little bit of massaging, we hope to have this play produced and ready to go for a Spring 2019 premier. Stay tuned!

We’re All Superheroes! – Participatory Theater Workshop

Inclusive Theater of WNY is so excited to announce our next theater workshop, “We’re All Superheroes!”

So what is the “We’re All Superheroes” workshop? The workshop is a participatory theater event – meaning, we spend our time together “building” our performance before “staging” our performance later in the day!

We will act, craft, paint, write (and more!) during our workshop time together! It will be a day of play that is open to EVERYONE!!

The workshop starts promptly at 9am and runs until 3pm on Saturday, JULY 14, 2018 at The Foundry. There is a $20 cost for the event, which covers materials and lunch.

You can pay for your registration here: paypal.me/inclusivetheater/20 .

A limited number of scholarships are available. Please contact ITOWNY at the email/phone below to inquire.

Reservation/prepayment for the workshop is required to ensure that we have enough materials and lunch items.
