Meet the Director – Virginia Brannon

Next up is the extraordinary Director Virginia Brannon! Virginia Brannon Since graduating in 2004 from Niagara University’s BFA Theatre Program, Virginia has stage managed, directed, and appeared in numerous shows and readings in the Western New York area. Virginia was a member of the Ujima Company Inc theatre project, “Free Fred Brown!” She was in Subversive Theatre’s production of Angels in America: Perestroika, and Torn Space’s Uncle Vanya. She was also in Subversive Theatre’s glorious production of Grapes of Wrath, American Repertory Theatre’s The Crucible and House of Blue Leaves. She is a member of Playback Theatre of Buffalo. She first worked with ITOWNY directing the exciting play by Baroness Von Smith, “And Where Will You Put the Things You Save?”

This time around, Virginia is directing “Between Two Worlds” and acted as a consultant director for all of the plays. We love you, Virge!

Meet the Cast/Director – Dallas Taylor

The debonair Director Dallas Taylor is up next! Dallas Taylor, a Buffalo native, serves as the Artistic Director of Inclusive Theater of WNY. He is also a weekend host on WBFO and a youth coach-mentor for Algonquin Sports for Kids where he coaches tennis and soccer to underserved youth in the community. The retired track & field athlete from SUNY Buffalo State College with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Philosophy now spends his free time writing, creating, playing tennis, and performing with WNY Improv. We are so grateful for you, Dallas! ❤️ Dallas is directing “Laundro’s Mismatch Plight” and will also be starring in the show as Laundro himself!

Meet the Cast/Director – Umar Azam

Let’s say hello to the multitalented Umar Azam!

Umar Azam is excited to be working again with inclusive Theater of WNY as a first time director of three of the plays and as Eron (Ronnie the Audition Slayer) and Laundro (Laundro’s Mismatched Plight). His past work includes the 48 hour film festival with green buffalo productions (GBP), “As You Like It” (Charles/ Jaques de boys) via Inclusive Theater, Drake in the musical “Annie”, and Beads in “everything’s groovy” . He also wrote “Turn me in” which won GBP’s quarantine quarters writing challenge, in addition to handful of other plays and screenplays. Currently, he is also working as an assistant director for “Look Up” short film under GBP. Thanks for all of your hard work, Umar! Show runs August 4-7. St Marys High School in Lancaster. Meet the Cast – Jessica Levesque

Next up is Jessica Levesque! Jess plays Sonia in “Paisley, Fire, and Stone!”About Jess: Since graduating high school, Jess has appeared in a number of plays , dances , films and even had a spot on a National TV series! She was in a play at Theatre Loft, in collaboration with Ujima Theatre Company in 2014, which won kudos from critics and she also appeared on stage at Alleyway Theatre in Baroness von Smith’s “And Where Will You Put the Things You Save.” Jess played the role of Alex; a young woman with autism who plays Roller Derby and has been biohacked!

Since the pandemic she has continued to act in online plays, beauty pageants, and promoting body positivity and inclusion. After a few bouts of Directing for ITOWNY and a film project and a few music videos, one of the Music videos was for a haunted house attraction in 2021 . Jessica will be walking her first red carpet premiere at horrorhound for a film that she will be on called Fred Heads documentary this year . Jess is excited to return to the stage in this production!

Meet the Cast – Mary Eckstein

Next up is our incredible new friend, Mary Eckstein!

Mary Eckstein (Eloise/Between Two Worlds; Dr. Kellogg/Therapy) has been involved in (community) theater since 1978 and has performed with numerous theater groups in Wyoming, Livingston, Genesee and Erie counties. Mary hails from the hills of Wyoming County where she lives with her husband, Mark, who shares her love of theater. Mary has enjoyed performing with ITOWNY and was especially delighted to share the stage with fellow Wyoming County actress, Susan Acker. Welcome Mary!! Meet the Cast – Sarah Henderson

Next is another new #ITOWNY family member, Sarah Henderson!

About Sarah: Sarah Henderson is a writer, actor and director that’s been working in theater for nearly 10 years. This is her first time working with Inclusive Theater of WNY, but not her last! She has performed in several different plays including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Mrs Beauregard, Dracula as a vampire vixen, a hippie flower child in the musical Everything’s Groovy, and many more. She’s also written and directed her own short film Look Up which is now in post production. Sarah plays Alice in I Just Want to Be Held, and Phase One in Pandemic. Meet the Cast – Susan Acker

Next up is another new #itowny actor, Susan Acker! Susan plays the roles of Ronnie in “Ronnie Audition Slayer” and Phoenicia in “Therapy.” More about Susan:

Susan Acker is very excited to be performing in her first show with ITOWNY! She has appeared in numerous shows over the years including Cinderella, Christmas Chaos and Mousetrap. She especially enjoys showcasing local playwrights and has had roles in numerous shorts, including Woman in the Box, I Just Wanted to Say and A Simple Game With Death. Susan can typically be found hiking in the woods with her dogs or kicking off in her kayak sun in her free time. Tickets only $10. August 4-7!
