Shakespeare in the Parking Lot - A Midsummer Night's Dream

Cast Spotlight: Cat Kwiatkowski

We are thrilled to have Cat in the role of Hermia in “Midsummer Night’s Dream.”  She was previously seen in Lancaster Regional Players’ “Stas & Stella’s Mostly Traditional Polish Wedding”, at ACTS in Alden in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, and “Miracle on 34th Street”; at Neumann University in two round of “Faculty Follies”; in Keuka College’s “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”; and in the Franciscan Mystery Players at St. Bonaventure University. Cat is an amazingly talented actor and tells us Hermia is her dream role. And it shows. Her performance is exceptional. Cat has an expressive face that a communicates even what words don’t. Cat is also talented in the area of sewing and crafts and a lot of what you’ll see in terms of costuming, backdrops and set are the result of her imagination and handiwork. It’s clear that theater is her passion and we are so fortunate to have her on board! Thank-you, Cat, for all you do!

When: July 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th at 7pm Where: The Foundry, 298 Northampton Street, Buffalo, NY

We are thrilled that Summer Harris has returned to Inclusive Theater of WNY as Helena in this year’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream! She was last seen in ITOWNY’s Festival of Shorts (Cate Blanchett/Princess Charming/Paula) and is a recent graduate of The Park School of Buffalo. Her past productions with The Park Players include The Mousetrap (Mollie Ralston), You Can’t Take It With You (Alice Sycamore), The Lion King Jr (Banzai/Featured Dancer), Honk! Cast Spotlight: Colleen Ann O’Byrne

Colleen Ann O’Byrne joined ITOWNY in the fall of 2018 when she served as Assistant to the Prop Master for And Where Will You Put the Things You Save? at the Alleyway Theatre. This past April Colleen auditioned for and was cast in a role in Television Man for ITOWNY’S Festival of Shorts.

Colleen has performed in summer theater with individuals with disabilities previously and is thrilled to be back on stage. Although she has been diagnosed with MS, through homeopathy and other natural and alternative therapies she has managed to slow its progression. Doing what she loves, she says, is great for the immune system!

Colleen’s biggest fans are her two Bichons–Molly and Bella. Don’t miss Colleen’s performance as The Handmaiden (no, not that one!) in A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare!

Commentary · Shakespeare in the Parking Lot - A Midsummer Night's Dream

Who Knew?

As rehearsals proceed for Shakespeare in the Parking Lot: A Midsummer Night’s Dream the cast is finding its footing. And they are hilarious. Did you know that Shakespeare was a very funny guy? And he was an anti-snob. His play within a play (at the end of Midsummer Night’s Dream) is ridiculous, and the royal court doesn’t know quite what to make of it–they’re kind of clueless. It’s Shakespeare’s way of making fun of the upper crust. The actors are disrespectful and the royal court can’t figure out if it’s just part of the play–or could it be they are the butt of the joke? Nah…

Our creative and hilarious cast takes the fun to the limit. Here are a few pictures from this weeks’ rehearsals…

Cast Spotlight: Jessica Levesque

A talented actor, Jessica has taken on the role of Titania, Queen of the Faeries with her usual dedication and attention to detail. She brings an exuberance to acting that makes it clear to everyone she was born for the stage.

Jessica Levesque sure has been busy! Since graduating high school she has appeared in several plays and films and even a spot in a TV series! She appeared in a play at Theatre Loft in 2014 which won kudos from critics, and also appeared on stage as Alex, a young woman with Autism who wants to play Roller Derby. You can read a review here.

In her spare time, Jessica makes jewelry and does other crafts. She adores modpodge! Don’t miss Jessica in  Shakespeare in the Parking Lot: A Midsummer Night’s Dream!

Cast Spotlight: Jennifer L. S. Weber, is outstanding in the role of Francis Flute. Jenn is simply fantastic and puts everything she’s got into it . She’s creative in the moment and many of her spontaneous improvisations (along with other cast members’ improvs) have been incorporated into the show. From Springville, Jen and her husband Charles are very active in community theatre there: Springville Center for the Arts.
